Student Activity of 7th ICWRER, Kyoto

Welcome to Student Field Trip!
Integrated Water Management with Historical Legacies

Motivation
A student-organized field trip is scheduled during the 7th ICWRER, Kyoto! Let's construct student's network, studying/enjoying historical water management in Kyoto. We plan to visit "the Lake Biwa Canal and the Keage Incline". The Keage incline was constructed for supporting transporation by ships, tap water and water power plant from Lake Biwa (Shiga Prefecture next to Kyoto City) for people living in Kyoto. We are going to visit the Keage Incline and study water history of Kyoto with Lake Biwa at the Lake Biwa Calal museum. Then, the Nanzenji temple and the Tetsugaku-no-michi street famous for a philosophist Nishida creating his own philosophy walking along the street. We are sure to have a good chance to talk each other among young researchers, with historic and dramatic scenary.
