Research and Job interests

My research and job interests are mainly focused on Prediction in ungauged basins, Distributed hydrological modeling, Flood modeling & forecasting, GIS & Remote sensing applications, Water resources engineering and Multi-hazard risk assessment

Educational Qualifications

MPhil. (Master of Philosophy), 2006. It is fulltime research on Setting up of an experimental basin and development of a cell-based model to derive direct runoff hydrographs for ungauged basins, under the supervision of Prof. S. B. Weerakoon, Department of Civil Engineering, University of Peradeniya, Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.

B.Sc.Eng., (Honors), (Bachelor of Science in Engineering), 2001, Specialized in Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. The Civil Engineering course is a four-year full time course with half a year industrial training.

Successfully completed the "Virtual Academy, 2004" Online course and onsite training course on Distributed Hydrological Modeling - WinBTOPMC, conducted by the Center of Excellence Program, University of Yamanashi, Kofu, Yamanashi, Japan. 25-27 January 2005

Successfully completed the 14th IHP (International Hydrological Programme) training course on Hydrology in Asia at the Humid Tropics Center, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 11-15 October 2004
